RUN DMC X Adidas Superstar 80′s

25 years ago, the music scene was dominated by Run DMC, a rap jam that took the 1980′ music industry by storm with hits after hits and dominating the MTV era. They are so popular that Adidas has released in 1986 an sneaker dedicated and commemorative to their anthem called the “Superstar 80s”. Run DMC was the first rap artist in the 80′s to pursue an endorsement from a shoe company showcasing both the artist’s brand as well as the shoemakers. The collaboration was a mega hit and both provided Adidas and Run DMC fame and fortune.

To celebrate its 25th year anniversary and commemorate the success of the Run DMC x Adidas sneakers, Adidas released  the superstar “my adidas” in a limited stock last Nov. 11, 2011 (11 – 11- 11) with only 1,986 copies, symbolizing its release year in 1986.

The new “my adidas Run DMC” features its iconic 3M black stripes and its upper is made of premium buttery leather.  The heel tabs has a huge ‘JMJ” letters to pays tribute to DJ legend Jam Master Jay. The year 1986 was also printed on its left and right side to show that the superstar was a huge hit way back 1986 and in the late 1980′s. It also has a chain lace jewel to add extra bling and comes with 3 sets of laces.

If you were born in the 80′s and wore these sneakers before then it would be awesome to be wearing its commemorative edition. If you were not able to purchase before then now would be the perfect time. It also worth taking note that only 1,986 has been made so better grab a pair now before its too late.
